Newsstand: Darrius Clemons commits to new school out of transfer portal
Former Michigan wide receiver Darrius Clemons has found his new school, committing closer to home at Oregon State from the transfer portal less than a week after departing from Ann Arbor. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after appearing in 22 career games at Michigan.
The Portland (Ore.) Westview product made 3 receptions for 33 yards this season. The highlight of his season from a receiving standpoint was hauling in a 19-yard grab as part of a 2-catch performance in a win over Nebraska Sept. 30. In 2022, Clemons made 1 catch for 7 yards, which came in a non-conference game against UConn.
Clemons had an uphill battle on Michigan’s depth chart this season with Cornelius Johnson, Roman Wilson, Tyler Morris and eventually Semaj Morgan ahead of him on the depth chart. Many believe that Clemons would have a chance to break into a larger role in 2024 with a cleared out wide receiver room, but he ultimately decided to move on to a different opportunity.

Michigan quote of the day
“Legendary is absolutely right. His dad posted that he is 77-5 as a starter as a football player since his sophomore year of high school at Nazareth Academy, then goes to IMG and leads them to an undefeated season. It’s the first time Michigan’s had a guy who has won the Big Ten quarterback of the year award. A Rose Bowl win, a three-time Big Ten champ and obviously national champion. As legendary of a career as it gets, not just at Michigan. He’s going to continue to win. That’s what he does. J.J. McCarthy is a winner.”
