Newsstand: Michigan offers 2024 QB, son of former Detroit Lions lineman
Michigan football added another quarterback to the board for the 2024 recruiting class by sending an offer out to four-star Chandler (Ariz.) prospect Dylan Raiola. If that last name sounds familiar to Michigan fans or football-watchers in the state, it is.
Dylan Raiola is the son of former Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, who was an All-American and Rimington Trophy winner in 2000 at Nebraska. He played all 13 years of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions and last played in 2014.
Dylan Raiola is the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2024 class, per the On3 Consensus rankings. He is the fourth-rated quarterback behind Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway and Carlsbad (Calif.) four-star quarterback Julian Sayin.

Raiola visited Oregon this past weekend, where his father dished on the trip with On3’s Chad Simmons. It is unclear how Michigan could factor into his recruitment at this time.

Michigan quote of the day
“A lot of what we’ve been saying is we don’t want to live off last year because you had these high expectations of freshmen. Some of the early enrollees, don’t know what we went through during the COVID year. So I think not living off the high of last year and still knowing we’ve got to put the work in this year to be the team we know and we want to be.”
