More on Amir Herring’s commitment to Michigan

Herring is the No. 276 overall player, No. 17 interior offensive lineman and fourth-best prospect in the state of Michigan, per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He chose U-M over fellow finalists Boston CollegeMissouri and Nebraska. Herring took official visits to all four finalists last month — Nebraska June 3, Boston College June 10, Michigan June 17 and Missouri June 24. The Cornhuskers appeared to be the favorite at the beginning of June, but Michigan put on the full-court press towards the middle of the month and is now the top contender.

Herring picked up a Michigan offer extremely early in his recruitment and immediately fell in love with the program on and off the field. While there were some bumps in the road this offseason, Michigan always felt like home to Herring.

A local prospect, Herring made several visits to Michigan throughout his recruitment, but it was his official visit last month that sealed the deal for the Wolverines.
