Game balls from Michigan's 31-6 win over Bowling Green
The Michigan Wolverines had a laundry list of errors in Saturday’s 31-6 win over Bowling Green, but still found a way to close out the nonconference schedule with a victory. It was a day across college football in which the top four teams had their share of struggles, but the second-ranked U-M squad has a lot to clean up.
Despite that, The Wolverine’s team of Chris Balas, Anthony Broome and Clayton Sayfie chime in with their game ball picks after the third victory of the 2023 campaign.

Clayton Sayfie: Senior EDGE Jaylen Harrell
Michigan senior Jaylen Harrell has been the Wolverines’ best edge rusher through three games, and he had a big night Saturday against Bowling Green. It was Harrell who hit the quarterback’s arm and jarred the ball loose before Michael Barrett recovered the fumble, and he had the pressure on the screen pass senior defensive tackle Kris Jenkins sniffed out and got the interception on. Harrell’s constant activity and relentless pursuit have really been on display early this season. The Wolverines forced 3 turnovers for the first time since last year’s Fiesta Bowl and couldn’t have done so without Harrell’s efforts.
Anthony Broome: Senior RB Blake Corum
This was a massively underwhelming night, but as we look for ways to pull positives out of it, it’s hard not to be impressed with senior running back Blake Corum. He ripped off a 54-yard run on the first offensive play from scrimmage and finished with 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries, bringing his scoring total to 6 TDs on the season.

So much has been made about Michigan’s early-season run-game struggles, but Corum is starting to look more like his vintage self. There is still a lot of work to do on the offensive line and in cleaning up mistakes, but Corum’s continued production can erase a lot of mistakes.
Chris Balas: Senior defensive lineman Kris Jenkins
It was a night where senior stars led the way for Michigan, and Jenkins had a huge momentum-swinging play. After U-M went into the locker room up 14-6 at the half, Jenkins grabbed an interception on a screen pass and returned it down to the BGSU 2-yard line. Two plays later, Corum found the end zone on his second touchdown run of the night. Jenkins’ big play was exactly how a big man is taught to defend a screen pass, and it’s a bummer he could not finish the play off with a touchdown. He also had a tackle for loss on the night.
