How Michigan offensive linemen performed at the NFL Combine
A record-setting six Michigan Wolverines football offensive linemen attended the 2024 NFL Combine, part of a group of 18 U-M prospects at the event in Indianapolis: Karsen Barnhart, LaDarius Henderson, Trente Jones, Trevor Keegan, Drake Nugent and Zak Zinter.
Zinter didn’t work out due to his leg injury suffered Nov. 25, but he said he should be fully healthy within the next month and a half. He plans to bench press and “move around” at the Wolverines’ pro day March 22.
The other six worked out in front of NFL teams, and all but Zinter and Henderson ran the 40-yard dash and did other testing. Henderson just went through drills.
Keegan impressed during drill work.
“He’s moving well,” former Michigan offensive lineman Taylor Lewan said on the NFL Network broadcast.
“He looks really good in these drills,” analyst Shaun O’Hara added.
NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah said that Nugent, though, has the “best feet of the Michigan linemen.”
“He’s the man in the middle, the center,” Jeremiah said. “They say he’s the man that makes that whole offensive line go.”
“He’s really polished,” O’Hara chimed in. “Zinter got all of the attention, but Nugent was really kind of a glue guy, kept everybody on the same page. That was a good rep right there.”
Meanwhile, after going through on-field drills Saturday, Michigan running back Blake Corum, wide receiver Roman Wilson and defensive back Mike Sainristil participated in the bench press. Corum led all running backs with 27 reps of 225 pounds, Wilson ranked 11th of 12 wideouts with 12 reps and Sainristil was fifth among cornerbacks with 14 reps. Corum’s number finished as the 20th-highest overall at the combine and first among skill position players.
