What Jim Harbaugh said about Michigan’s matchup this week
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh previewed what the Hoosiers will bring to the table during his Monday press conference:
“Yeah, I mean, they’re a great team. I’ve always thought that about them — gritty, leadership, tough, tough, tough outfit. I mean, we’re gonna have to play good. You’re right, they’re being more efficient in all phases, they’re improving, too. So like anybody, it’s a race to get better each week, and go out and find your identity and play as best as a team. I see them on an upward trajectory, as well. And we always know that they’re tough outfits.
“So yeah, we’re gonna have to get prepared. Have a great week of practice. That’s really been key for us. I’ve noticed the last three, four weeks, just getting better and better. And having that focus, so just it’s what we’re doing.”
Indiana has been trending downward over the last few seasons under Tom Allen. After being a media darling during the 2019-20 seasons, head coach Tom Allen and company have gone 8-21 and are off to a 2-3 start this season. Their wins have come against Indiana State and in four overtimes against Akron with losses to Ohio State, Louisville and Maryland. The Terrapins put it on the Hoosiers a few weeks back in a 44-17 decision, which sent Indiana limping into the bye week.
Saturday’s game is set for a 12 p.m. ET broadcast at Michigan Stadium on Fox as part of the network’s Big Noon Saturday coverage. Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt will be on the call.
