Michigan football returns to game action this week against the Michigan State Spartans in Ann Arbor. Below is a thread of what we see on the field leading up to the Battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy.

6:57 p.m. – Senior right tackle Trente Jones was warming up with the 2nd-team line in warmups. Karsen Barnhart was with the starters.

6:51 p.m. – Senior quarterback Cade McNamara is not dressed tonight and was spotted on the field during warmups. Davis Warren and Alan Bowman will be the backups to J.J. McCarthy tonight.

6:30 p.m. – A large recruiting visitor night is on the horizon, headlined by 2024 elite quarterback Jadyn Davis.

The Wolverines hold a 71-38-5 advantage in the all-time series and have won 26 of the last 43 games between the two schools. MSU has won the last two matchups (2020-21), and U-M won the two prior games in 2018-19. U-M is 35-21-3 against the Spartans in the Big House and 50-23-3 in all series games in Ann Arbor.
