WATCH: Michigan celebrates national championship win with fans in Ann Arbor
After returning from Houston, the Michigan football team celebrated the national championship win with fans in Ann Arbor. Supporters were welcomed to the practice field at Schembechler Hall, where head coach Jim Harbaugh and players spoke.
The Wolverine was onsite for the event and captured exclusive footage. Watch the video above.
Celebration Observations
Harbaugh was the first to talk on the microphone connected to the surround sound so everyone could hear.
“It was a mission that had lofty aspirations and high goals,” Harbaugh said. “We never lost sight of those goals. We never lost sight of the mission and we completed the mission. (You fans) are weathering the storm, just like the 2023 Michigan football team.”
Multiple players, including Blake Corum, Mike Sainristil, Colston Loveland and Will Johnson, issued warm regards to the crowd. Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter also shed some words of appreciation.
“All I got to say is we love you guys. We appreciate all your support,” Johnson said. “Go Blue. We’re going to run it back next year.”
JJ McCarthy received one of the biggest ovations from the fans, who voiced their wishes for the quarterback to return to Michigan next season, chanting “One More Year.”
