Michigan football podcast: Balas and Skene assess improvement, look ahead to OSU
Michigan destroyed Northwestern, 50-6, and looked for a day like a team that might be able to at least compete with some of the nation’s better squads. The offensive line played better and the defense was dominant for much of the day.

“We really locked into the little things,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said. “We called it ‘buy-in’ week. That was Max Bredeson‘s idea. I’m not going to take credit for that. I thought the guys all did a really good job of doing the little things and attacking.
“lt really started that Monday. We had a scout team practice and probably the most energetic practice especially on a Monday we’ve had coming in after a loss. For those guys to be like that and buy in like that meant a lot. It talks about the culture, where these guys are where we are, so they just worked on the little things, and this week practiced really well with a lot of energy. It was fun to be a part of.”
Michigan quarterback Davis Warren showed improvement again despite one bad interception. The line gave him time to throw in the second half, and he responded with some nice plays.

“Just, what a selfless guy, first,” Moore said. “When you are the starter and you get benched, you can easily have a selfish, negative attitude. He was the complete opposite. He was an outstanding teammate. He’s just a tireless worker, his process never changed and he continued to get better.
“He’s a great example of what you want. For a kid that’s been through so much in his life, he’s just a great example for me, a great example for our team. Just because you get knocked down or put in a position, that doesn’t mean you stop working. He’s been outstanding for us.”
