Jim Harbaugh speaks on Monday

Michigan needs a new backup quarterback with senior Cade McNamara on the shelf indefinitely. The battle is just heading up between three potential options.

“We’ll decide,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “We’ve been playing them both an even amount of time. All options will be open. And Alex Orji, too. Don’t forget about Alex. He’s right there in the mix.

“I’ve seen good things. Davis Warren, Alan Bowman, Alex Orji. I’ve seen good things from them in practice and when they’ve gotten into the games. I think we have good confidence in all three.”

Michigan will seek to find answers to this question and more heading into the Big Ten opener. Saturday’s game against Maryland kicks off at 12 p.m. ET on FOX.
