“Dan Villari, for those who saw the spring game, was really good, really effective,” Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said this spring. “I’m excited about Dan. I was kind of looking at Dan in multiple ways — throw out the name Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints).
“We’re going to try to do some things like that with Dan Villari as a quarterback slash athlete that can really help our team. I think he can do it. [There’s] a lot to like about Dan Villari.”
Villari made his Michigan debut against Western Michigan (Sept. 4), taking snaps under center with three rushes for 11 yards. He also ran three times with an eight-yarder against Northern Illinois, notched a four-yard run at Wisconsin and played on multiple special teams units throughout the year.

Michigan has lost several players to the portal over the last few weeks, but none (yet) unexpected. Third-year defensive tackle Chris Hinton was the latest. He and third-year end David Ojabo joined veteran end Aidan Hutchinson in declaring for the NFL Draft.
