Wolverine TV: Game clips of 2023 Michigan WR commit Semaj Morgan

The Wolverine’s Anthony Broome was in Downtown Detroit over the weekend to get a look at a pair of Michigan football 2023 commits in offensive lineman Amir Herring and wide receiver Semaj Morgan. The West Bloomfield duo impressed in their 47-7 win over Sterling Heights Stevenson, but it was Morgan who had the performance of the evening.
The Michigan commit, who is a three-star prospect and the No. 76 wideout in the country per the On3 Consensus, put on a show. He finished the day with 9 catches for 168 yards and a touchdown while adding an 81-yard kick return. Morgan also played safety and in the slot on defense during his team’s blowout victory.

Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy previously led the West Bloomfield program and has a connection to both players. They are also former teammates with sophomore running back Donovan Edwards.
“Coach Bellamy knows I’m a dog. He expects me to go out there and be a leader. Make big plays when I’m supposed to. It is a mutual thing with us. We both know what I want and I know what he wants.”
For both players, the focus is on going out with a bang before enrolling at Michigan in January. Herring said the Wolverine staff wants them to focus on being high school kids first.
“Coaches have been talking to us about just focusing on our senior year and enjoying the time and seizing the moment,” he said. “Coach [Jim] Harbaugh has talked about that too. Enjoy our senior year and be kids before we get up to Ann Arbor.”
