Michigan football: Ranking the home games by cheapest to most expensive ticket
Michigan football plays eight home games this season, which should give the team an advantage in racking up wins for its resume. It is not the most robust of home slates, but a pair of games standout as the most expensive of the year.
October dates against Penn State (Oct. 15) and Michigan State (Oct. 29) are the marquee games on the docket. The six other opponents are Colorado State, Hawaii, UConn, Maryland, Nebraska and Illinois. There is a pretty noticeable gap in pedigree there.
The good news for Michigan fans is that a lesser home slate could provide more ample opportunities to get to a game this fall. We went through the listings on Seatgeek to find the cheapest tickets available, the “best deal” in the Big House for each game and what the best seat available is going for. These contests have been ranked below by cheapest to most expensive.

Nov. 19 vs. Illinois: $35
Michigan’s tilt with the Illini is the cheapest on the secondary market by a decent margin. The cheapest pair comes in Section 37, row 63 with two tickets for $35 apiece. Seatgeek says the best deal in the building is in Section 36, Row 56 for $37 each. The best seats available in the Big House are three tickets in Section 1, Row 9 for $595 each.
Sept. 17 vs. UConn: $47
The cheapest ticket to get in the door for Michigan’s non-conference finale vs. UConn is $47 each for a pair of tickets in Section 6, Row 70. The best deal available is in Section 18, Row 40 where three tickets are priced at $55 each. Section 1, Row 9 pops up again as the best seats in the house with three tickets available for $354 each.
Sept. 3 vs. Colorado State: $53
Fans can get into the Michigan season-opener against Colorado State for $53 each, which would buy a pair of tickets in Section 39, Row 94. Seatgeek’s best available deal comes in Section 43, Row 88 with a pair of tickets listed for $97 apiece. The best seats in the house are in Section 1, Row 10 with three tickets for $327 each.
Sept. 10 vs. Hawaii: $56
Michigan fans can attend the Week 2 showdown against Hawaii for $56 each to get in the door, which would put you in Section 9, Row 43. The best available deal comes in Section 43, Row 60 with a pair of tickets available for $102 each. Section 1, Row 10 appears as best seats in the building with a trio of tickets up for grabs for $392 each.

Sept. 24 vs. Maryland: $59
Single tickets for $58 each are available in Section 37, Row 33 and Section 36, Row 33 for the Big Ten opener vs. Maryland. The cheapest pair of tickets for Michigan’s fourth game are in Section 38, Row 78 and available for $67 apiece. The best deal in the building on Sept. 24 is in Section 43, Row 7, where as many as six tickets are on sale for $188 each. The best seats in the house up for sale are in Section 1, Row 18 with 2-4 tickets posted for $270 each.
Nov. 12 vs. Nebraska: $58
Single tickets are available for $58 each in the same seats listed in the open for the Maryland game above. Michigan fans can grab a pair of tickets in Section 16, Row 93 for $63 each. Seatgeek’s best available deal for the Nebraska tilt are in Section 40, Row 17 with two tickets available for $65 apiece. Section 1, Row 9 makes another appearance with three tickets on sale for $724 each for the best seat in the building that day.
Oct. 15 vs. Penn State: $158
Here is where things start to get on the pricier side for Michigan fans. Penn State is one of the two premium opponents on the 2022 schedule, which makes the pricing surge make sense. The cheapest seats currently available are three tickets in Section 37, Row 92 for $154 each. The best deal on the site is three seats in Section 41, Row 88 for $213 apiece. Section 1, Row 9 makes another appearance as the best-available seat with three tickets on sale for $860 each.
Oct. 29 vs. Michigan State: $252
Michigan football’s rivalry bout with MSU is by far its most expensive game of the year. Rumors have swirled this could be a night game, so the secondary-market price could reflect that. The cheapest pair of tickets available are in Section 7, Row 78 for $252 each. Seatgeek’s best deal is for three tickets in Section 41, Row 85 for $299 each. Section 1, Row 10 has the best-available seats in the building, with three tickets priced at $1,339 each.
