Wolverine TV: Sherrone Moore, Matt Weiss speak on offensive dynamic, spring ball
Michigan football has a new dynamic offensively with offensive line coach Sherrone Moore and quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss joining forces to coordinate. They replace Josh Gattis, who left during the offseason for the offensive coordinator position with the Miami Hurricanes.
For head coach Jim Harbaugh, he hopes the internal hires can help Michigan not only continue their offensive success but also build on it and do more things well. That was a topic of conversation among both of the assistants this week during spring football practices.
Both Weiss and Moore met with the media on Wednesday afternoon at Schembechler Hall in Ann Arbor. Topics discussed include the offensive line’s progress, how early enrollees are performing, the quarterback situation and much more.
Video is available from each of their media availabilities below.
Michigan offensive line coach/co-offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore
What he said: “[Spring practices] have been fun. Enthusiastic and high-energy. Guys have picked up where they left off. We are very excited about the progression and the progress that we have made and just taking the next step day by day.
“[The offensive staff changes have been] a seamless transition. We know each other’s voices and thoughts and how we all work together. It’s been really good. Very fluid and a lot of fun for us.”

U-M quarterbacks coach/co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss
What he said: “Jim [Harbaugh] is aggressive by nature. That is how he was as a player and how he is as a coach. That’s one reason guys are drawn to him and players love him. We see a lot of things the same and he’s really smart and logical. He has great ideas and is really easy to work with. He’s been awesome.”
