Michigan football will host Penn State this weekend in its annual Maize Out game, but the uniforms the Wolverines will wear this week are to be determined still. Most are hoping for the return of the Maize jersey, which was used in the marketing by the university in the weeks leading up to the contest, but would that be a distraction against an all-Maize crowd?

Michigan has not worn its Maize alternate jerseys since the season opener against Florida in 2017, but they have still be available for sale at The M Den and online. There were rumors that the Wolverines wanted to wear them at Penn State last year, but were denied by the Nittany Lions.

In Michigan’s Monday tease fo the game on social media, the program sent out a graphic with senior EDGE defender Mike Morris wearing the all-blue uniform combo, which has not made an appearance yet this season.

There might be some jersey gamesmanship going on. Look for Michigan to keep this under wraps as long as it can this week.

Michigan quote of the day

“We’re going to have to play really good because they play really good, they always do, they’re always well prepared. They’re always good in run defense, run offense, pass defense, pass offense and in the kicking game. They’re always really, really good. We say it a lot of time this the best unit we are going to play all year in some phases. Each year you kind of say that and they’re always winning games. It’s a big-time matchup.”
