Michigan Wolverines football hosted Central Florida transfer defensive tackle Cam Goode on an official visit from Sunday to Tuesday, and by all accounts the trip went extremely well. Goode has also visited Syracuse and Vanderbilt, and he may set up a stop to Notre Dame.
Here’s what TheWolverine.com’s Chris Balas wrote about Goode as a player:
Though not tall, Goode has a great first step and the ability to get to the quarterback from the interior. He also has a knack for forcing turnovers. He was 12th in the nation with four forced fumbles this year and also notched 24 tackles (four for loss), three sacks, and interception, three passes broke up and four quarterback hurries.
In 2020, the lineman recorded three sacks in addition to 19 tackles. Goode was also second on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss that year.
By all accounts, this one is looking good for Michigan. He’s still contemplating a Notre Dame visit, however, so it’s not over yet.
Goode rode out of Michigan in style, even getting a row on the plane to himself.
Former Michigan point guard Zavier Simpson is in his second season out of college basketball, and has been a standout in the G League with the Oklahoma City Blue. He’s gotten his biggest chance yet, signing a 10-day deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He earned his first career NBA start in Tuesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, a 98-94 win. He posted 10 points, five assists, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
Of course, two of Simpson’s points came on his signature running hook shot.
Tuesday was a travel day for Michigan Wolverines hockey, which shipped up to Boston for Thursday’s Frozen Four contest against Denver. The Maize and Blue have appeared in more Frozen Fours than any other NCAA program.
Quote Of The Day
“I’ve always kept up with being in playing shape and all that, but just getting back to — because I haven’t been throwing for such a long time — getting those reps in with the guys and building that chemistry is going to be huge for me, for sure.”
