Michigan football reveals uniform combo for trip to Nebraska
The Michigan Wolverines are on the road for the first time this season with a trip to Nebraska on Saturday. In a uniform combo reveal on social media Friday afternoon, the Wolverines say they will wear the white road uniforms with maize pants and white accessories for the first time this year.
Michigan has worn maize pants on the road four times under head coach Jim Harbaugh. The first time was in 2017 at Penn State, a blowout loss, the second occurrence was a loss at MSU in 2021, the third time came at the Nittany Lions in 2021, a 21-17 victory. The most recent was a 31-10 Michigan victory at Indiana last season.
Michigan is off to a 4-0 start this year after a mostly dominant, if not boring slate of non-conference games. U-M took down East Carolina 30-3 in Week 1, UNLV by a score of 35-7 in Week 2 and Bowling Green 31-6 in the non-conference finale. Michigan was helmed each week by a different interim head coach in Jesse Minter, Jay Harbaugh, Mike Hart and Sherrone Moore over the course of the three-game stretch. Last week, head coach Jim Harbaugh returned from his suspension to lead Michigan in its Big Ten opener against Rutgers, winning 31-7.
Michigan is looking forward to getting out on the road for the first time this year, according to captain and defensive back Mike Sainristil.
“It’s always fun to go to new atmospheres and I feel it’s a different mentality because it’s really us against everybody and we’re prepared for that,” the Michigan captain said this week. “We’re going to prep all week, but chomping at the bit to get out there for sure. I’m just ready.
“I’m just ready to bully somebody in their house. I just can’t wait to turn around in Nebraska to turn up on every, turn up on every Thursday. I love Nebraska’s fans. I’m not gonna lie. That night game [in 2021] was probably one of the most fun games I’ve ever played in.

“It was louder than Penn State’s because it was loud the whole entire game, winning, losing, no matter what, it was loud. And it just felt like a great football game. They had the lights, they had they were saying anything. Hostile environments are the best environments.”
