Where Michigan stands in updated 2024 On3 Consensus national team recruiting rankings
Michigan has jumped to No. 13 in the 2024 On3 Consensus National Team Recruiting Rankings board following the verbal commitment of Cincinnati (Ohio.) St. Xavier three-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond.
Hammond becomes the fifth rising junior to join the Wolverines in the 2024 cycle. Ranked as the No. 14 overall prospect in the state of Ohio, per the On3 Consensus, Hammond chose Michigan over offers from Oklahoma, Washington, Louisville, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and others.
Hammond made multiple visits to Ann Arbor this past year, including a game day visit in the fall and two facility tours during the prior offseason. Defensive line coach Mike Elston and area recruiter Steve Clinkscale formally offered Hammond earlier this month, who immediately returned over the weekend for Michigan’s Junior Day event.
“First off, I would like to thank God for all the opportunities, gift, and talents that he has blessed me with,” Hammond said via Twitter. “I wouldn’t be in this position without him. Secondly, I would like to thank my family for being with me throughout this recruiting process by always supporting and love me. I love you all. Lastly, I would like to thank my coaches. For pushing me to be the best version of myself every day. Also, Coach Elston and Coach (Jim) Harbaugh for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity.
“With that being said, I’m beyond blessed to commit to the University of Michigan! #GoBlue #A.M.D.G”
