Michigan has jumped to No. 23 in the 2023 On3 Consensus National Team Recruiting Rankings board following the verbal commitment of Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton linebacker Breeon Ishmail.

Ishmail becomes the third second linebacker to join the Wolverines this cycle. Ranked in the top 50 among all senior Ohio native prospects, per the On3 Consensus, chose Michigan over offers from Tennessee, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

Ishmail first visited Ann Arbor for the Penn State game back in mid-October which cultivated in an offer. He returned for the final home game of the season and committed six days later.

“The visit (to Michigan) was wonderful,” Ishmail told The Wolverine. “It was so great and there were so many great people up there who wanted me to be great. Meeting all of the coaches and players was great. But it was also the area around the college and the entire community. Michigan is the number one public university in the country. I love the academics there.”
