Michigan football has begun its “winter cycle” of training ahead of spring practices, and it has a new mantra that’s printed on tee shirts: Team / Me. Here are some clips from a lifting session posted by the program’s official X account.

Minority owner Tom Brady, a former Michigan quarterback, and the Las Vegas Raiders have tapped John Spytek as its new GM. Spytek, a former Michigan player alongside Brady, was previously the assistant GM with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

More from NFL.com:
Spytek has long been a respected front-office talent as the top lieutenant for Jason Licht in Tampa. Now he gets to run his own ship.

Spytek replaced Tom Telesco, who was fired earlier this month after one season as Las Vegas GM.The 44-year-old Spytek has deep connections to Raiders minority owner Tom Brady. Spytek was a freshman outside linebacker at Michigan when the former quarterback was a senior. The duo also won a Super Bowl together with the Bucs in Brady’s first season with Tampa Bay.

Spytek has extensive NFL front-office experience, starting as a Detroit Lions operations intern in 2004. He spent five seasons in Philadelphia (2005-09) where he became a college and pro scout, three years in Cleveland as director of college scouting (2010-12), three seasons as a Denver scout (2013-15, where he won another Super Bowl ring) and joined Tampa in 2016.

With the Raiders locking down Spytek, the next order of business is landing on a new head coach to usher in the latest Vegas reboot.

2026 Las Vegas (Nev.) Columbus four-star shooting guard Jaxon Richardson is hearing from six schools the most frequently, with Michigan being listed, he told On3’s Joe Tipton.

Quote Of The Day

“He’s definitely like family at this point. He always has been. Even in his introduction to us, he felt like family. He approaches us like we’re family. It’s like he’s an uncle or a cousin. That’s how we talk amongst each other.”
