Michigan Wolverines football received huge news Monday morning, when 2023 Washington (D.C) Gonzaga four-star offensive tackle Evan Link made his commitment to the Maize and Blue. U-M stayed put at No. 24 nationally in the On3 Consensus team recruiting rankings.

At 6-5.5, 290 pounds, Link is the No. 125 overall player in the class per On3’s rankings and slots 284th nationally on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Link chose Michigan over top contenders Stanford and Penn State. He’s the first and only offensive tackle commitment in the Wolverines’ 13-member 2023 class.

As a result of Link’s commitment, U-M has a total score of 88.370, placing them just behind No. 23 North Carolina, which has a tally of 88.544. The Wolverines are within 0.5 points of No. 22 South Carolina (88.555), No. 21 Baylor (88.710) and No. 20 Stanford (88.738).

Michigan is very much in play for Top 100 prospects like EDGE Nyckoles Harbor, defensive back Javien Toviano, defensive back Makari Vickers, athlete Jacobe Johnson, athlete Jeremiyah Love as well as other top targets like Florida commit Aaron Gates and others. And that means the Wolverines should move up the rankings soon.

Michigan also hosted dozens of prospects for its BBQ at The Big House last weekend, which Link was a part of, and gained momentum with several recruits.

The 13th member of the 2023 Michigan recruiting class, Link joins On300 EDGE Enow Etta, consensus four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring, four-star EDGE Collins Acheampong, four-star running back Cole Cabana, four-star linebacker Semaj Bridgeman, four-star tight end Deakon Tonielli, three-star wide receivers Semaj Morgan and Fredrick Moore, three-star defensive lineman Brooks Bahr, three-star running back Benjamin Hall, three-star EDGE Aymeric Koumba and highly touted kicker Adam Samaha.

Michigan is looking to take around 25 prospects this cycle.

Michigan is ranked No. 4 in the Big Ten, trailing Ohio State (No. 4), Penn State (eight) and Michigan State (18).
