Michigan WR Daylen Baldwin signs undrafted free agent contract with New York Giants
Michigan Wolverines football wide receiver Daylen Baldwin has his new home. The former Morgan State and Jackson State receiver was not picked in the 2022 NFL Draft or signed immediately following the event, but he’s now inked with the New York Giants, according to his post on Instagram.
He joins his former teammate at Michigan, defensive tackle Christopher Hinton, as undrafted free agents with the Giants. Four other Wolverines inked free agent deals after the draft — linebacker Josh Ross (Baltimore Ravens), safety Brad Hawkins (Atlanta Falcons), cornerback Vincent Gray (New Orleans Saints) and defensive tackle Donovan Jeter (Pittsburgh Steelers).

For the fourth straight draft, the Wolverines had five draftees — Michigan’s draftees were: defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (first round, No. 2 overall to the Detroit Lions), defensive back Daxton Hill (first round, No. 31 to the Cincinnati Bengals), outside linebacker David Ojabo (second round, No. 45 overall to the Baltimore Ravens), running back Hassan Haskins (fourth round, No. 131 overall to the Tennessee Titans) and offensive lineman Andrew Stueber (seventh round, No. 245 overall to the New England Patriots.
Baldwin declared for the draft after his lone season at Michigan, but was not invited to the combine or any all-star events. This placed a huge emphasis on his pro day showing. He measured in just below 6-foot-2 and weighed in at 218 pounds. Balwin’s 40-yard dash time was 4.65 seconds with a 3-cone time of 7.23 and shuttle drill of 4.39. He posted 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and his vertical jump measured in at 34.5 inches. Baldwin’s broad jump measured 10 feet.
A Waterford (Mich.) Mott graduate, Baldwin had just one D-I offer out of high school, and he took advantage of it, signing with Morgan State, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
