Michigan Wolverines guard Josh Priebe has found his NFL home, signing an undrafted free agent deal with the Miami Dolphins. He joins U-M teammate Kenneth Grant, who was selected with the No. 13 overall pick.

Priebe joined Michigan in December 2023 as a transfer, looking to take his game to the next level under head coach Sherrone Moore. He started all 13 games, including the ReliaQuest Bowl win over Alabama, at left guard. He was a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the media and an honorable mention by the coaches.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler included Priebe in his annual edition of “The Beast,” ranking him as the No. 36 guard in the class and a likely free agent.

“I loved the decision,” Priebe said in an interview with The Draft Network’s Justin Melo. “It played out exactly how I wanted it to. I got coached really hard at Michigan. It afforded me opportunities to get better and develop every single day. I built some great relationships at Michigan.

“Going to a different place also gave me a new perspective on college football. Things are different at a place like Michigan compared to Northwestern in terms of the landscape of things.”

Priebe started 12 games in 2023 at Northwestern at left guard. Among his highlights that season were allowing zero pressures on 46 pass-blocking snaps in the season opener against Rutgers and following up with a performance against Minnesota with no pressures in 61 dropbacks.

During the 2022 season, Priebe started seven games and made eight appearances and made nine starts in nine games during the 2021 campaign. The On3 Transfer Portal rankings list him as a three-star addition and the No. 597 player available.

Priebe was a three-star recruit and the No. 422 player in the country in the 2020 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking. The Niles, Michigan native held an offer from Michigan in addition to offers from Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee and Vanderbilt before committing to Northwestern.

Priebe said during the pre-draft process that his experience starting at two different Big Ten schools is an asset for his next team.

“You’re going to get someone who has proven to be a great competitor at a very high level. I started over 40 games in college,” Priebe told Melo. “I’ve battled through adversity and injuries, different things that came up. I’m going to be a great leader and a smart guy who can execute every play.”
