The Washington Commanders have been in disarray for weeks, losing their last five games. Former Michigan Wolverines football long snapper hasn’t been the biggest problem, but he was a major one in a 28-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, and the 6-4, 230-pounder was let go by the team the following day.

Cheeseman had multiple bad snaps in the game, which was in line with a trend as he struggled throughout the season.

“It’s unfortunate because for two solid years we got some real good stuff from him,” head coach Ron Rivera said Monday. “And unfortunately this year, it was not as consistent as it needed to be.”

Cheeseman rolled a second-quarter snap back to punter Tress Way, before the specialist took a hard hit from a rusher.

“I shouldn’t have put him in that position,” Cheeseman said. “Plain and simple, the ball should be in his hands. He should be able to get the ball off. It’s my job to help him, whether it’s blocking or just getting the ball back there. He should never be touched.”

The former Michigan special teamer added that he had been “worried all year” about his job security.

Elsewhere in the NFL, former Michigan kicker Jake Moody made a 43-yard kick in the fourth quarter of a San Francisco 49ers win over the Arizona Cardinals that gave him 107 points on the season, breaking the team rookie record of 105. He’s also now made 53 straight extra points (all 53 he’s attempted this season), the most in a row by any kicker since the NFL moved PATs back to the 15-yard line in 2015.

Here’s a look at how every former Michigan player in the NFL performed in Week 15:
