The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes will do battle on Saturday afternoon with the AP Poll rankings reflecting the likely College Football Playoff setup heading into the final week of the season.

Last week’s CFP had OSU at No. 2 and Michigan at No. 3, respectively. In this week’s AP Poll, that is where both teams stand coming off their penultimate regular season games.

Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Iowa are the only teams ranked out of the Big Ten Conference, which is no surprise at this point considering the conference has made a habit of cannibalizing itself throughout the year. Iowa clinched the Big Ten West title on Saturday with a win over Illinois and will play the winner of Michigan vs. Ohio State on Dec. 2 in Indianapolis.

Other changes in the top five this week include Washington jumping Florida State at No. 4 despite both winning on Saturday. FSU’s fall may have a lot to do with quarterback Jordan Travis, who suffered a leg injury and is out for the season.

Here is a look at the second-to-last AP Poll released ahead of the final week of the 2023 regular season.

“I mean, the only thing that hit me is that my mom is coming in next week. She’s probably going to yell at me for cussing again. Besides that, no, it hasn’t. Just trying to take it a step at a time. My daughter’s birthday today. She’s here and when I go home, I’m going to celebrate with her. That’s the thing I’m thinking about right now. We’ll prepare our tails off for that game starting tomorrow bright and early. Probably won’t sleep a lot, which is alright, kind of what we do anyway. It has not really hit me and it probably will the week of.
