Michigan is now ranked No. 25 in the 2023 On3 Consensus national team recruiting rankings after landing a commitment from consensus four-star Colleyville (Texas) Covenant EDGE Enow Etta. Michigan moved up five spots with the addition.

Etta committed to Michigan over finalists Alabama, Michigan State and Stanford. At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Etta ranks as the No. 19 EDGE and No. 141 overall prospect, per the On3 consensus rankings. Etta is the second EDGE in the 2023 class for Michigan.

The Class

As a result, the Wolverines have a total score of 87.775, placing them just behind South Carolina, which has a score of 87.933.

Michigan is very much in play for Top 100 prospects like EDGE prospect Nyckoles Harbor, defensive back Javien Toviano, defensive back Makari Vickers, ATH Jacobe Johnson, ATH Jeremiyah Love as well as other top targets like Florida commit Aaron Gates, four-star defensive lineman Kayden McDonald and four-star defensive lineman My’Keil Gardner. And that means the Wolverines should move up the rankings soon.

U-M hosted a number of these prospects on official visits during June and is set to have its annual BBQ at The Big House at the end of this mont.

The 11th member of the 2023 Michigan recruiting class, Etta joins consensus four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring, four-star EDGE Collins Acheampong, four-star running back Cole Cabana, four-star linebacker Semaj Bridgeman, four-star tight end Deakon Tonielli, three-star wide receivers Semaj Morgan and Fredrick Moore, three-star defensive lineman Brooks Bahr, three-star running back Benjamin Hall and highly touted kicker Adam Samaha.

Michigan is looking to take around 25 prospects this cycle.

Michigan is ranked No. 6 in the Big Ten, trailing Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Iowa and Northwestern.
