Newsstand: Ryan Day – 'There'll be a time and place' to fire back at Michigan allegations
The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes renew their rivalry on Saturday, but it comes with a bit more of an edge to the series given the events of the last few seasons.
Michigan has dominated the Buckeyes on the field the last two times out, winning by a margin of 87-50 over the last two contests. Of course, many down in Columbus believe that it had to do with Michigan’s alleged illegal scouting operation.
OSU head coach was asked about it earlier this week, and is refraining from comment. Likely to wait until a potential victory occurs similar to his tirade against 86-year-old former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz.
“We’ve learned a lot about what’s gone on the last two years…I don’t think it does any good to comment on it right now,” Day told WBNS-10TV in Columbus. “There’ll be a time and place for that. What matters is this game and getting our guys prepared to go win it.”
There is not much respect between Day and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who will not be on the sidelines Saturday. He didn’t take bait during his Monday presser.

“It’s all about our preparation for Ohio,” Harbaugh said. “The days, the minutes, the hours … everything leading up to this game. That’s where our focus is. Preparing ourselves and planning, practice, and then executing. Anything else is irrelevant when you get into this kind of big game week.”

Michigan quote of the day
“I think just in general, in football, you’re going to have bad plays. You play against really good players. We always talk about FIDO, Forget It and Drive On. If you don’t do that as a football player, it’ll harp you regardless of your position. Quarterback, running back, O-line, tight end, defense, all those things happen so you gotta make sure you push on forward because that stuff is gonna happen. Now you’ve got to refocus and get ready to go.”
