Harbaugh was asked what the level of respect between the Michigan and Ohio State coaches staffs are, but he had different subjects on his mind — namely the preparation that it’ll take in the lead up to the matchup.

“It’s all about our preparation for Ohio,” Harbaugh said. “The days, the minutes, the hours — everything leading up to this game — that’s where our focus is. Preparing ourselves and planning. Going to practice and then execute. So, anything else is irrelevant when you get into this kind of big game week.”

Harbaugh is suspended for the remainder of the regular season due to an unprecedented ruling by the Big Ten. He was asked where he watched Michigan’s game against Maryland, a 31-24 victory, and what he saw from his team.

“Watched the game at my brother’s house [John Harbaugh],” Harbaugh said. “Great to watch it with him. What I saw was a great and glorious win. Really happy with the team. Good to be around his football mind, too. Accomplished what we went there to do and got the mission done.”

Harbaugh has not been on the sidelines for five of Michigan’s games so far. He’s been able to prepare the other coaches, including acting head man Sherrone Moore, for the moment.

“It’s really a battle tested team,” the Michigan coach said. “And empowering people. It’s really that. Empowering our coaches, empowering our players and it’s just an amazing job that they’ve done. Amazing effort. The way our players have gone about things, coaches, players … I just think back over the last five, six weeks, especially, it’s just been like a high pitched siren, like a deafening, ear piercing noise. After awhile, you start to tolerate it. And then before you know it, you just block it out.

“Stay on course — that’s what our team has done, and just keep the priorities right and keep the priorities straight, which is faith, family and football.”
