To open the press conference, the Michigan coach was asked what his emotions are since he’ll be able to coach his team on the sideline this weekend against Iowa. He deflected on that subject and instead turned focus to his team, which just concluded the regular season 12-0.
“I understand the attention,” Harbaugh said. “Me not being there was a big deal, but I want to spend my time recognizing what was actually accomplished [by] our team, and maybe they will get the credit that they’re due. A tremendous testament to the coaches and the players, especially everyone coming together and the great and glorious victory for Michigan.

“I have saying you’re probably pretty familiar with. I use it mostly with the team and my family. It’s, ‘Who’s got it better than us!?’ And the proper response is: ‘Noo-body!’ It’s something passed down from from my dad, Jack Harbaugh. It’s more than just a cool saying. What I’m really saying when I’m talking to the team or the players, what I’m really stating to them is that there is no coach who could possibly have it better than to coach you. There is no dad that could possibly have it better, when I’m talking to my kids. That’s my love language.
“And and when they say ‘Noo-body!’ back, what I’m hearing them say is, they love their team, hey love their teammates, they love the direction of the program — and nobody could have it better than to be here.
Concluded the Michigan coach: “So, those are my emotions. That’s how I’m feeling once again. Walking up the steps of Schembechler Hall today and seeing that sign, ‘Those who stay will be champions,’ resonated today, like it resonates every day. Our goal of being Big Ten East champions has been accomplished. Now, we move to taking our shot of at being Big Ten Champions for the third straight year.”
