Michigan endured a rough 2020 season, going 2-4 in the COVID shortened campaign. But amazingly, the 2021 recruiting class stayed intact, led by now-junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who shared a tweet after the Wolverines lost to Wisconsin 49-11: “I want all Michigan fans to do this. Take 3 deep breaths… And have faith. Faith that every single coach, player, employee in that building is doing everything they possibly can to be great.”

Three years later, Michigan has won 38 of its last 41 games, is No. 1 in the country and set for its third College Football Playoff appearance in a row.

Former Michigan quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst Devin Gardner believes that big No. 78, sophomore defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, may be the difference in the Wolverines’ Rose Bowl matchup against Alabama.

Michigan men’s lacrosse has released its schedule for the 2024 season.

Belleville (Mich.) High five-star quarterback, the top overall target on Michigan’s 2025 recruiting board, has been named the Michigan High School Football Player of the Year by MLive.

Former U-M defensive standout and Heisman Trophy finalist Jabrill Peppers made an interception in a Thursday night football win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Quote Of The Day

“We’re making a pass, and we’re freezing. We watched, at great length, offensive tape yesterday with them about quicker movement — not faster movement. I mean, we are what we are in terms of foot speed, but you can be quicker, and we need to be quicker.

“I’m thinking of the last several games, like throwing the ball almost in an iso to [graduate forward] Olivier [Nkamhoua], to [sophomore forward] Tarris Reed [Jr.]. And if you look at the whole picture, the other four guys are stationary. That can’t work; that’s not what we’re about. We’re about ball and player movement. Our player movement has grounded almost to a halt, and that has to change. That’s one. And two, we’re not running the ball, we’re not pushing the ball. Is that minutes? It makes me wonder, since I’m handling the substitutions. Is it too many minutes? Do we have to go shorter spurts? Do we have to get another guard to kind of set that pace and set that tempo? Even the other night, getting to whatever we got to against Indiana point-wise, it was the stretch with Olivier in the second half, the stretch with [Michigan redshirt sophomore forward] Will Tschetter, but it didn’t feel like us.”
