Michigan signal caller Cade McNamara added another NIL deal to the list, revealing a new partnership with PING in a Wednesday night post. During the ad, McNamara drops back for a pass as the throw quickly becomes a transition to him donning his new golf look.

PING is an American sports equipment manufacturing company based in Phoenix, Ariz. with a focus on golf clubs and bags. The company was founded by Karsten Solheim in 1959 and now sponsors professional golfers such as Louis Oosthuizen, Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson and others.

Via ping.com: “At home one evening, Karsten Solheim putts with his first prototype putter head, and the tuning-fork-like construction makes a ‘ping’ sound when impacting the ball. Karsten excitedly runs into the kitchen and announces to his wife, Louise, “I’ve got a name for my putter!” Soon thereafter, he files for a patent on the PING 1-A putter. Three years later, the patent is granted.”

Season recap: Michigan QB Cade McNamara

McNamara threw for 2,576 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions while starting all 14 games for the Wolverines in 2021. His junior campaign included bragging rights over Ohio State, a Big Ten Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance. The Reno, Nev. native is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a two-time letterman and an All-Big Ten selection.

McNamara enters 2022 as the apparent starter but will have to fend off the young, talented J.J. McCarthy: “The dynamic, I would say, would be competitive,” Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said of the quarterback battle. “I’ll tell you the exact same thing I’d tell Cade or J.J. or any other player on our team that’s competing for any position. Who’s going to play? The best player. How are we going to figure out who the best player is? They’re the ones that play the best.”
