Michigan RB Kalel Mullings selected by Tennessee Titans in 6th round of 2025 NFL Draft

Michigan Wolverines football running back Kalel Mullings was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 188 overall draft in the 6th round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Michigan has had a running back drafted in three of the last four drafts, with Hassan Haskins going to the Titans in 2022 and Blake Corum being picked by the Los Angeles Rams in 2024.
A converted linebacker, Mullings spent the first two-plus years of his career on defense, before officially moving to offense at the tail end of the 2022 campaign.
Mullings missed much of the pre-draft process with injury. He measured in at 6-foot-1.5 and 226 pounds at the NFL Combine. He didn’t participate in drills or in the Wolverines’ pro day in March.
The Boston, Mass., native is coming off a breakout season at Michigan that saw him earn third-team All-Big Ten honors. He led the team with 948 yards and 12 touchdowns on 185 carries, adding 6 receptions for 35 yards. He was tabbed as the Wolverines’ offensive player of the year and co-MVP.
Mullings backed up Corum and Donovan Edwards while playing a short-yardage role in the Michigan backfield in 2023, helping the program win its 45th Big Ten championship and 12th national title. He carried 36 times for 222 yards and 1 touchdown and caught 2 passes for 32 yards.
The 2022 campaign was a whirlwind. Mullings went back and forth between defense and offense during preseason practices but settled in at linebacker, playing 10 games there.

Once Corum went down with a season-ending knee injury in November, Mullings transitioned to running back and played a key role in Michigan’s first win over Ohio State in Columbus since 2000, throwing a 15-yard jump pass to tight end Luke Schoonmaker for a big first-down pickup on third down.
All told for the season, Mullings totaled 12 tackles on defense and 14 rushes for 31 yards and 3 scores on offense.
Mullings was a backup linebacker for Michigan in 2022, playing 13 games overall, including eight on defense. He totaled 11 tackles. He appeared in six games on special teams and defense in four as a true freshman in 2020, totaling 1 tackle and 1 pass breakup.
A Boston (Mass.) Milton Academy product, Mullings was a four-star recruit and the nation’s No. 133 overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
