The Michigan Wolverines officially signed four-star offensive lineman Avery Gach (Franklin, Mich.) to the program on Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know about the in-state offensive lineman.

The Skinny

Height: 6-4
Weight: 270 pounds
Senior Stats: N/A
Industry Ranking: No. 277 overall, No. 21 interior offensive lineman, No. 3 in Michigan
Interesting Facts: Gach’s recruitment was a national race that included Michigan’s rivals in the Michigan State Spartans and Ohio State Buckeyes, in addition to the likes of Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Georgia, Auburn, Penn State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, Tennessee and much more.

Recruitment

Gach became the second in-state 2025 prospect to commit to Michigan following a trio of spring returns, with the final appearance in Ann Arbor coming for the intrasquad scrimmage. Head coach Sherrone Moore and Newsome were instrumental in keeping the priority mauler close to home. Since the 2022 season, when Gach first stepped foot on campus, he’s taken a total of 10 unofficial visits to U-M.

He Said It

“(Moore) is a great coach and an even better guy at the end of the day. That’s what matters at the end of the day. I can’t wait to play under him. Coach Newsome is the best O-line coach that I’ve talked to. He’s very knowledgeable. he’s a young guy, which I like, and he’s played there.

“I’m just so excited to get up there [to Michigan] and start working with (Newsome). He’s a great coach, and I know the things that he can do.”

They Said It

“He’s just tremendous. The work ethic is out of this world. I mean, he’s got the measurements. You know, he’s always 6-foot-5, 290 (pounds), and athletic. I think the two things that make him a difference maker are that he gets up and (thinks) he’s got to be a better football player. He feels guilty if he doesn’t work out. He won’t put his head on the pillow if he hasn’t done something to make him a better football player.”

Avery Gach Scouting Report

“Continuing to get bigger and stronger. I think when you look at Gach as a prospect, he’s really got to play on the interior because he’s not the longest. He doesn’t have maybe the biggest frame in terms of arm length and size. So, I think he’s probably going to be projected in the interior. I could see him being a center, potentially, or a guard. But I think the biggest thing with him is going to be maxing out the frame to make the most of his physical abilities.”
