Signee Spotlight: 2024 CB Jeremiah Lowe goes in-depth on signing with Michigan
Three-star Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass cornerback Jeremiah Lowe submitted his National Letter of Intent and is officially signed with Michigan after announcing his verbal commitment in August.
The Wolverine’s Zach Libby caught up with Lowe to discuss his decision, why he stayed solid with the Wolverines throughout the process and more. Watch the exclusive interview above.
Lowe Recruitment
Michigan entered the mix for Lowe in June of last year and he later made visits for the late July BBQ at The Big House and the Michigan State game this past season. His communication with co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale, whose son is a teammate of Low, transpired over the course of several months.
“Obviously, Clink trusts us because he’s been around our program with his sons,” Frederick Douglass head coach Nathan McPeek told The Wolverine. “He trusts our guys and coaching staff to keep his sons here. We have a long history and relationship with him. He does a really good job of recruiting, and he always helps us out. We visited there last spring and anytime we need anything, he’s always there for us as coaches. But he’s done a great job of coming down here and recruiting our best talent.”
Lowe returned to Ann Arbor for this year’s barbecue and eventually shut down his recruitment less than two weeks later. He chose the Wolverines over notable offers from Kentucky, Missouri, West Virginia, Boston College, Eastern Kentucky, Western Michigan, Miami (OH) and Army.
Lowe and his family officially visited for the Purdue game on the first weekend of November.
“It was great to see how big the Michigan family is,” Lowe told The Wolverine. “You know that Michigan has the biggest stadium, so that brings in a lot of people. It’s been cool with (the commits). They’ve welcomed me ever since I committed. They’re already family.”
Lowe led Frederick Douglass to an 8-5 record, advancing to the KHSAA Class 6A Semifinals. He finished the year 23 total tackles, 1 for a loss, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 1 punt return for a touchdown, and 1 kick return for a touchdown.

He’s set to enroll in June.
At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Lowe is listed as the No. 1,205 overall prospect and No. 127 cornerback in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 9 player in Kentucky.
Scouting Report
“Lowe is refined and comfortable in coverage. He’s smooth-moving and has the versatility to play multiple spots. Whether it’s outside corner or in the slot at nickel. He seems to be comfortable reading a quarterback’s eyes. You can see him jump passes and make plays on the ball with good instincts. He has good coaching as well. Frederick Douglass is one of the better high school football programs in Kentucky and they seem to have Power 5 prospects every cycle. His footwork and technique are refined, so he won’t be a guy who’ll need quite as big of an adjustment to the requirements needed to play cornerback (at Michigan).” – On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power
