Michigan finished No. 15 overall on the 2024 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings following the conclusion of late National Signing Day, which saw the official announcement of 27 commits, including Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara EDGE Lugard Edokpayi, the lone U-M signee listed in the Top 100 nationally on On3.

“Michigan is a great, consistent team that’s been in the Top 5 in recent years,” Edokpayi told The Wolverine. “They do a great job. They produce edge rushers, which is my position. They have a great coaching staff and a great culture. They are good at football and have a great education.”

At 6-foot-6.5, 215 pounds, Edokpayi is ranked as the No. 40 overall prospect and No. 6 EDGE in the country, according to On3. He’s also the No. 1 player in Maryland.

“They’ve produced Aidan Hutchinson so many good defensive ends,” Edokpayi said. “I was really impressed with what they did on defense this year. It was really good to watch.”

Team rankings are determined based on each program’s 18 highest-rated pledges.
