Three-star Michigan offensive tackle commit Ben Roebuck didn’t allow a sack in Saturday’s game as Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward won 42-7 over Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius.

The Wolverine’s Zach Libby was onsite and captured exclusive clips from the contest. Watch highlights of Roebuck in the video above.

Roebuck Recruitment

Roebuck committed to Michigan and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore this past March after multiple unofficial visits to campus in the winter. He chose the Wolverines over notable offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Northwestern, Nebraska, Kentucky, Minnesota and Pitt.

“Coach Moore is different from a lot of other offensive line coaches,” Roebuck told The Wolverine at the Under Armour Next+ Camp Series in May. “Instead of acting like a coach, he’s like a really good friend. It’s easy for everyone to be ourselves around him. Even over texts, he’ll respond to us and talk to us. I didn’t see that with some other coaches. But Coach Moore is always being himself, whether it’s in person or over the phone. We’re just bonding and it’s great.”

Roebuck is listed as the No. 499 overall prospect and No. 26 offensive tackle in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 20 player in Ohio.

Along with Roebuck, Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class is highlighted by Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis, Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, Top 100 Rochester (Mich.) Adams tight end Brady Prieskorn, On300 Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst offensive tackle Andrew Sprague, On300 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic linebacker Cole Sullivan, On300 Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park EDGE Devon Baxter, Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, On300 Austin (Tex.) Vandegrift offensive tackle Blake Frazier, On300 West Charlotte (N.C.) High linebacker Jaden Smith and On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis.

“I think we all have the same kind of personalities,” Roebuck said. “We just fit together. It’s hard to explain but I don’t think it can get that much better. We all have the same common interests. Even in our group chat, whenever someone says something, everyone immediately responds. So the fact that we’re super close now, I can’t wait to keep it going once we get to Michigan.”
