Priority RB target Micah Ka’apana commits to Michigan
Michigan has found a complement for Top 100 running back commit Jordan Marshall.
Three-star 2024 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman tailback Micah Ka’apana committed to the Wolverines on Saturday following his official visit to Ann Arbor last weekend.
“Jordan reached out to me after I received the offer,” Ka’apana told The Wolverine prior to his official visit. “He speaks very highly of his future home and that’s something I really respect about him. With the offense that Michigan has, the one-two punch between us and our play styles could be something special.”
Ka’apana is the fourth junior prospect to pick U-M in a span of six days. He chose Michigan over other offers from Nebraska, Hawaii, Oklahoma State and Washington State.
Last season, the 5-foot-11, 195-pounder compiled 1,001 yards and 15 touchdowns on just 70 carries en route to a Nevada 5A state championship.
Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart stopped by Bishop Gorman during the spring evaluation period to offer Ka’apana. The pair were able to develop a strong relationship in quick fashion.

“Coach Hart is a great guy,” Ka’apana said. “I can just tell by his personality, attitude and energy. He’s such a great guy. I look forward to meeting him in person and getting to know him even more. I’ve heard some great stories about him, his career and how he did as a football player. He knows what he’s doing, knows how to coach, knows how to develop players and knows how to get players to that next point in life.”
Ka’apana is ranked as the No. 42 overall running back in the country and No. 2 junior in the state of Nevada, according to On3.
