Four-star Belleville (Mich.) High linebacker Jeremiah Beasley has submitted his National Letter of Intent this morning and is officially signed with Michigan after announcing a verbal commitment six months ago.

Beasley Recruitment

Beasley’s high school is less than a 30-minute drive from Ann Arbor, so his familiarity with Michigan, the campus and the surrounding area was strong throughout his recruiting process. Beasley liked the scheme fit and coaching staff throughout his eight unofficial visits before locking in a commitment in late June.

He chose the Wolverines over notable offers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Florida, Colorado, Pitt, Louisville, Cincinnati and others.

“It’s really cool because I’m always having a good time with (the commits),” Beasley told The Wolverine. “That was a big thing for me to have people who I can see myself being around. I’m going to be with them for the next three to four years, so that’s big to be comfortable around the people who I’ll be playing with.”

Beasley built a close rapport with former linebackers coach Chris Partridge, who, despite getting released last month, didn’t affect the commitment status of the former. Beasley also has strong ties with area recruiter Steve Clinkscale, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and head coach Jim Harbaugh.

“I’m very proud of Jeremiah because he works so hard,” mother Peggy Carr told The Wolverine. “He works day in and day out academically, athletically and socially. I’m just so happy for him because he truly deserves everything that’s coming to him. I’m glad that he chose somewhere that fits him as opposed to what other people think.”

Beasley compiled 120 total tackles, along with 86 carries for 893 yards and 8 touchdowns as a senior, helping Belleville return to the MHSAA Division I Finals for a third consecutive year.

The Detroit Free Press listed Beasley on its Michigan high school football 2023 Dream Team and is on the Associated Press all-state first team. He has an invite to the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Florida, on January 3.

He’s set to enroll early.

At 6-foot-0.5, 210 pounds, Beasley is listed as the No. 340 overall prospect and No. 29 linebacker in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 7 player in Michigan.

Scouting Report

“I think Jeremiah has a well-rounded game. He’s a guy who can play in the box on defense and also play both ways. He’s extremely productive, which is a great indicator of a great linebacker in high school. He had over 100 tackles and rushed for over 1,250 rushing yards (as a junior), so that’s a huge positive in his favor. He’s instinctive and it’s impressive that he can make so many plays without getting off the field. I liked what I’ve seen from him in a camp setting as well. He projects well in space and the athletic ability that he shows is very encouraging.” – On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power
