Michigan is coming off its annual late July BBQ at The Big House recruiting event and is trending with five prospects who returned to Ann Arbor over the weekend.

The Wolverine examines which elite targets U-M leads for, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

Top 100 WR Andrew Marsh, Katy (Tex.) Jordan, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 62 Overall, No. 11 Wide Receiver, No. 13 in Texas

Andrew Marsh took his third visit to Michigan of the summer for the barbecue, following an official visit over Victors Weekend and an early June return. He told The Wolverine on Tuesday that he enjoyed the freedom allotted to him and his family during the festivities. Some things the family did outside of meetings with the coaching staff and connecting with the recruits included tubing down the river and checking out real estate. Among the other visitors that Marsh built a friendship with included 2026 quarterback commit Brady Hart, who threw passes to the Top 100 wideout. A potential commitment could be made public by Marsh next month.

On300 CB Jayden Sanders, Kilgore (Tex.) High, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 233 Overall, No. 27 Cornerback, No. 32 in Texas

Jayden Sanders had been to Michigan twice this summer. He first explored the facilities and campus in mid-June and came back for the barbecue. The date for which Sanders is expected to shut down his recruitment will be August 10, with the Wolverines battling Oklahoma State, Baylor, and others. On his latest trip, Sanders spent multiple days in Ann Arbor and got more time with defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan. The 2025 commits, such as On300 defensive back Kainoa Winston, were involved in peer recruiting.

CJ Sadler is coming off his third visit to Michigan since the coaching staff transition earlier in the winter. Now that head coach Sherrone Moore is at the helm, Sadler is getting familiar and close with the new leadership. One of the mainstays from last season’s national championship run is wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, who’s the primary recruiter for Sadler. The Wolverines have the heavy lead on the RPM, but other Power 4 programs like LSU and Colorado are pushing for the three-way star. Sadler has also experienced three games at The Big House over the past two years, and the likelihood is that U-M will work to welcome him again later in the fall.

On300 WR Payton Cook, Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban, 2026

Industry Ranking: No. 234 Overall, No. 36 Wide Receiver, No. 10 in Ohio
On3 Ranking: No. 300 Overall, No. 48 Wide Receiver, No. 15 in Ohio
RPM: Michigan (57.0%), Pitt (20.5%), Kentucky (9.2%), Louisville (7.7%)
Past U-M Visits: 7/27/24, 6/17/24, 4/20/24, 11/25/23, 6/14/23

Payton Cook spent an entire day at Michigan for the barbecue. He underwent a workout led by Bellamy and got instruction from U-M strength and conditioning coach Justin Tress. Cook is growing close with Bellamy this offseason following three returns since the April spring game. Bellamy told Cook that the sophomore could be someone who impacts games and helps the Wolverines win games. He told The Wolverine that Ann Arbor is beginning to feel like home and appreciates the hospitality.

Four-star Safety Craig Tutt, Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland, 2026

Industry Ranking: No. 306 Overall, No. 25 Safety, No. 9 in Tennessee
On3 Ranking: No. 41 Safety, No. 21 in Tennessee
RPM: Michigan (48.6%), Vanderbilt (3.9%), Tennessee (3.3%), Louisville (2.8%)
Past U-M Visits: 7/27/24

Craig Tutt‘s first-ever visit to Michigan was for the barbecue. The Wolverines had the lead before Tutt came up to Ann Arbor, which remains the same this week. Morgan extended an offer to Tutt in June, and last weekend was their first in-person interaction. Since the 2021 cycle, U-M has landed three prospects from the state of Tennessee – linebacker Junior Colson, defensive athlete Mason Curtis, and tight end Eli Owens. Multiple SEC teams have entered the mix as well for Tutt, such as Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.
