Michigan is prioritizing four prospects ranked in the Top 100 nationally this cycle, with one expected to announce a verbal commitment in less than 10 days.

The Wolverine examines where U-M stands with the four top targets, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

Five-star OT Andrew Babalola, Overland Park (Kans.) Blue Valley Northwest

Industry Ranking: No. 15 Overall, No. 4 Offensive Tackle, No. 1 in Kansas
On3 Ranking:
No. 14 Overall, No. 4 Offensive Tackle, No. 1 in Kansas
RPM:
Stanford (88.8%), Michigan (3.2%), Oklahoma (1.9%), Missouri (1.3%)
Past U-M Visits:
6/14/24 (OV), 3/22/24

Andrew Babalola could commit anytime soon, meaning Michigan has less than a month to establish further moves to land the five-star offensive tackle. The Wolverines trail Stanford considerably on the RPM but have garnered intensive momentum this summer to be thoroughly in the picture. The Cardinal face pushes from not just U-M but also Auburn, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Babalola, born in Metro Detroit, visited Ann Arbor twice this offseason, including an official visit this past June. Head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome, who hold backgrounds as both players and coaches at the offensive line position, are leading the way for Babalola, who’s been impressed with the school’s combination of elite football and academics.

Top 100 WR Jerome Myles, Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon

Industry Ranking: No. 58 Overall, No. 10 Wide Receiver, No. 1 in Utah
On3 Ranking:
No. 143 Overall, No. 18 Wide Receiver, No. 1 in Kansas
RPM:
Utah (90.0%), Texas A&M (3.9%), Ole Miss (3.3%), Michigan (<1%)
Past U-M Visits:
7/27/24

Jerome Myles is coming off his first-ever visit to Michigan for the annual late July BBQ at The Big House. Wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy offered him during the spring evaluation period and got close with the assistant last month. Offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell, who first checked out Myles in Draper during the spring, is also involved. Myles would drop a Top 10 list featuring the Wolverines, Texas A&M, Miami, Penn State, Ohio State, and others. Having decommitted from Ole Miss earlier in the summer, Myles is eyeing more visits in-season to find his program of choice, with U-M in-line for an official visit.

Top 100 WR Andrew Marsh, Katy (Tex.) Jordan

Industry Ranking: No. 62 Overall, No. 11 Wide Receiver, No. 13 in Texas
On3 Ranking:
No. 168 Overall, No. 24 Wide Receiver, No. 27 in Texas
RPM:
Michigan (90.9%), Texas (1.9%), USC (1.4%, Oklahoma (1.0%)
Past U-M Visits:
7/27/24, 6/21/24 (OV), 6/4/24, 7/30/23, 5/31/23

Andrew Marsh is considered a heavy lean to Michigan following three summer visits on campus, including for the barbecue. He also took an official visit on Victors Weekend, which succeeded an unofficial earlier in June, and then later a return for the barbecue. Marsh has been to Ann Arbor a total of five times since May of last year, so his relationship with Bellamy, Moore, and the staff is very close. He’s talked about U-M’s history of winning and development, hence why the reigning national champions were included in his Top 5 list. Washington, Colorado, Texas, and USC were also added. Marsh plans on announcing a commitment on August 20.

Top 100 LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Industry Ranking: No. 80 Overall, No. 6 Wide Receiver, No. 11 in Florida
On3 Ranking:
No. 275 Overall, No. 24 Linebacker, No. 37 in Florida
RPM:
Notre Dame (31.7%), Florida (18.6%), Ohio State (13.3%), Michigan (8.9%)
Past U-M Visits:
6/21/24 (OV), 4/27/24

Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng doesn’t have a commitment date set and expects to have due diligence with the process in-season. After the Wolverines welcomed Owusu-Boateng twice to campus, including an official visit on Victors Weekend, the incoming senior considers them a top school, with Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Texas, and USC in consideration as well. Owusu-Boateng is comfortable in how he’d fit in Michigan’s defense, has praised his relationship with linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary, and has an IMG Academy teammate committed to U-M in offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn. The Wolverines will likely look to have Owusu-Boateng return for a game-day visit, which he’s yet to do.
