On300 in-state LB Jeremiah Beasley commits to Michigan
Michigan just picked up its third verbal commitment from the state of Michigan this cycle on Wednesday when four-star Belleville (Mich.) High linebacker Jeremiah Beasley made his decision.
Beasley went public with the pledge at his high school nearly two weeks after scheduling his official visit over Victor’s Weekend as he surrounded himself with 14 of his future teammates who were also on their officials.
“The big highlight was getting up there with the recruits that are already committed,” Beasley told The Wolverine. “That was really cool. I hung out with a lot of them like Jadyn (Davis), Jordan (Marshall), Ben (Roebuck) and Luke (Hamilton). You know I’m already cool with Jacob (Oden). I also spent some time with Devon (Baxter). Those were some of the main ones. I had a really good time.”
Beasley chose Michigan over other notable offers from Michigan State, Kentucky, Missouri, Pitt, Tennessee, Illinois, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Purdue, Colorado, Louisville and others. U-M ended up overcoming its in-state rival for Beasley as the Spartans were considered to be one of the heavy favorites earlier in the offseason.
At 6-foot-0.5, 210 pounds, Beasley is listed as the No. 274 overall prospect and No. 28 linebacker in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 6 junior athlete in the state of Michigan.
Beasley was immediately named a priority target for linebackers coach Chris Partridge as soon as the former Ole Miss co-defensive coordinator was re-hired by the Wolverines in early February. Beasley would go on to take multiple unofficial visits throughout the spring, including for the April spring game, which was followed up by multiple On3 predictions made in favor of the two-time reigning Big Ten Champions.

Both Beasley and Partridge reunited again in Ann Arbor during the former’s official visit.
“Our meeting went well,” Beasley said. “We sat down and went over film and where I would play. He showed me how I would fit as a WILL. I like the scheme they run. It’s an NFL-style scheme. It would prepare me for the next level. I’ve built my relationship with him a lot. A lot of people don’t know this, but I was up there three weekends in a row with him talking about the defense and family.”
Beasley was originally planning to announce a commitment in mid-March but postponed it in order to take June officials.
