Bio Blast: Meet 2024 Michigan OT signee Ben Roebuck
Three-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive tackle Ben Roebuck has submitted his National Letter of Intent and is officially signed with Michigan after announcing a verbal commitment in March.
Roebuck Recruitment
Michigan hosted Roebuck on his first unofficial visit to Ann Arbor in January of last year. He returned in December and took two more trips leading up to his announced commitment nine months ago.
He chose the Wolverines over notable offers from Michigan State, Rutgers, Penn State, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Duke, Pitt, Iowa State, West Virginia and others.
“My parents were absolutely onboard with it,” Roebuck told The Wolverine. “My mom loves the level of education there. She just fell in love with the place. She had only been up there once before. Her going up there and seeing it again was really important for her. My dad loved it from the first time we went there early in my recruitment. That was always one of the top picks.”
Michigan offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore, as well as area recruiter Steve Clinkscale, were instrumental in issuing regular communication with Roebuck.
“The first time we met Sherrone was on Ben’s first visit more than a year ago,” father Doug Roebuck told The Wolverine. “They really connected. He’s very personable and relates well to the guys. He has a great attitude. He’s able to relate to the kids on a more personal level, which I think is important. His family was with him, and we got to see him be a dad. A lot of those things can relate to coaching young, teenage kids. They need that figure that’s able to relate to them, communicate with them, guide them and give them direction on and off the field.”
Roebuck won three OHSAA Division I Championships in four years, including earlier this month, which ended a 14-1 fall campaign, with St. Edward finishing with 1,394 passing yards, 1,857 rushing yards and 44 total touchdowns.

Roebuck was named first-team Division I All-Ohio by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. He also received All-American honors and an invite to the U.S. Army Bowl.
He’s set to enroll in June.
At 6-foot-7, 340 pounds, Roebuck is listed as the No. 530 overall prospect and No. 32 offensive tackle in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 21 player in Ohio.
Scouting Report
“The best attribute that Roebuck has is his length. He has very long arms. He’s not the best athlete, but the length helps compensate for that. The biggest thing we want to see from Roebuck is improving his movement skills. But he has a huge frame. When you look at offensive line prospects that Michigan likes, Roebuck fits that.” – On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power
