The Wolverine examines the recruits who Michigan is leading for in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in the barbecue’s aftermath.

Five-Star QB Bryce Underwood, Belleville (Mich.) High

RPM: U-M (40.3%), Michigan State (17.8%), Ohio State (9.3%), LSU (7.7%)
The Skinny: Many of the local visitors last weekend stayed on campus Monday which was the final day of the summer open period, including Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class. The talented signal caller’s relationship with quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell is strong in the months before his commitment date on January 6.

On300 IOL Avery Gach, Birmingham (Mich.) Groves

RPM: U-M (25.4%), Michigan State (22.2%), Ohio State (14.4%), Notre Dame (8.1%)
The Skinny: Michigan is prioritizing Avery Gach and his 6-foot-5, 265-pound frame. Gach did a workout with offensive line coach Sherrone Moore and the 2024 offensive line commits last weekend. On3’s No. 2 ranked in-state prospect really liked how Moore taught technique and footwork at the workout. He’ll plan to return for a game this season.

On300 WR Kaliq Lockett, Sachse (Tex.) High

RPM: U-M (40.4%), SMU (18.5%), Texas Tech (15.9%), Arizona State (13.2%)
The Skinny: Kaliq Lockett was among the number of 2025 wide receivers who went to Michigan last weekend and one of two four-star pass catchers from Texas to fly north. He met with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy and graduate assistant Andrew Goodrich as both impressed the No. 22 wide receiver nationally in meetings.

On300 OT Carter Lowe, Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer

RPM: U-M (54.3%), Ohio State (27.4%), Michigan State (6.3%), Penn State (5.3%)
The Skinny: Carter Lowe‘s close proximity to Ann Arbor has allowed him to take nearly double-digit unofficial visits to Michigan since last year’s offseason. Moore’s pedigree of developing offensive linemen and the academic resources found on campus is high on Lowe’s list. Ohio State is going after the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder just as hard as the Wolverines with Lowe residing halfway between the rivals.

Four-Star Safety Messiah Delhomme, Warwick (Va.) High

RPM: U-M (72.7%), East Carolina (5.8%), Virginia (5.0%), Liberty (4.1%)
The Skinny: The visit last weekend was the first time in which Messiah Delhomme worked out in front of Michigan safeties coach Jay Harbaugh, who pulled the trigger on the DMV secondary talent earlier in the offseason. Delhomme is showing heavy intrigue in what U-M’s defensive backs bring to the table and his fit in the scheme. He’s the No. 22 overall safety in the country by the On3 Industry Ranking.

Four-Star EDGE Xavier Newsom, Detroit (Mich.) King

RPM: U-M (86.1%), Toledo (1.8%), Central Michigan (1.6%), Pitt (1.3%)
The Skinny: The 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame of Xavier Newsom is being looked upon by Michigan as a pass rusher. The barbecue was the fourth time since January that Newsom has visited campus. The Wolverines were the first to enter the mix for the No. 3 player in Michigan this past winter. Co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale is leading the way in this recruitment.

Three-Star DB Elijah Dotson, University of Detroit (Mich.) Jesuit

RPM: U-M (99.3%), Penn State (<1%)
The Skinny: Elijah Dotson is listed as a wide receiver on On3 but Clinkscale is targeting the 6-foot-2, 175-pounder at defensive back. As the No. 4 ranked in-stater in the 2025 class, Dotson is taking reps on defense in the 7v7 circuit this offseason and his rapid development has caught the eye of Clinkscale. Dotson has been to Michigan twice since April and earned the offer towards the end of the spring evaluation period.

Three-Star LB Justin Rowe, Asheville (N.C.) High

RPM: U-M (72.7%), Appalachian State (3.0%), Charlotte (2.6%), Virginia Tech (2.2%)
The Skinny: Justin Rowe made his first-ever visit to Michigan on June 1 and returned for the barbecue. Linebackers coach Chris Partridge offered the Canadian in the spring and the latter worked out in front of the former Ole Miss co-defensive coordinator last weekend. Both trips has provided the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder with a first-hand look of the football and academic resources available to student-athletes.

Three-Star CB Jahmari DeLoatch, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith

RPM: U-M (79.3%), Old Dominion (6.3%), Duke (5.4%), Liberty (4.5%)
The Skinny: Jahmari DeLoatch is taking his time with the recruitment process but Michigan made a big leap after last weekend. Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter is establishing a great bond with the DMV standout and so is Clinkscale. At 6-foot-0, 170 pounds, DeLoatch is ranked as the No. 10 overall player in the state of Virginia and No. 36 cornerback nationally.

Rising WR Quinn Morris, Plainfield (Ill.) East

RPM: U-M (86.4%), Minnesota (13.6%)
The Skinny: Quinn Morris is the younger brother of Michigan wide receiver Tyler Morris so the connection has given the incoming junior a unique perspective of the program. Morris actually spent an entire week in Ann Arbor leading up to the barbecue, hanging out with his brother and many other players on the roster. U-M and Minnesota are the first two Big Ten schools to offer the 5-foot-11, 162-pounder.

Rising EDGE Willie Fletcher, Detroit (Mich.) King

RPM: U-M (83.8%), Central Michigan (2.4%), Ball State (2.0%), Pitt (1.7%)
The Skinny: Remaining in-state and close to home is an opportunity that’s appealing to Willie Fletcher and his family. Michigan offered the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder early in the process with Fletcher visiting three times this offseason. His return for the barbecue was also the second time he’s made the short drive in less than two months.
