Signee Spotlight: Top 100 RB Jordan Marshall talks legacy building at Michigan and more
Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall has submitted his National Letter of Intent and is officially signed with Michigan after announcing a verbal commitment in March.
Marshall Recruitment
Marshall made four unofficial visits to Ann Arbor before his commitment nine months ago. In the past two recruiting cycles, Michigan has landed eight prospects native to Ohio, with Marshall being the highest-ranked and most publicized.
He chose the Wolverines over offers from notable final contenders such as Ohio State, Tennessee, Oregon, Wisconsin, Tennessee and others.
“It’s cool for it to be the last time I’m ever going to be just a fan watching the game,” Marshall told The Wolverine. “Going out there and running out and getting that full effect. It was a cool experience to be the first one out there, seeing the fans join and seeing the stands get emptier and emptier. To be in the middle of it and see everyone happy and smiling, it was a great environment and I can’t wait to put it to Ohio these next four years.”
Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart and area recruiter Steve Clinkscale beat out the Buckeyes for the reigning Ohio Mr. Football Award winner.
“You have a high-level program and a high-level human being doing high-level things,” Archbishop Moeller head coach Bert Bathiany told The Wolverine. “High achievers attract high achievers. That’s why Michigan wants a player like Jordan and that’s why Jordan wants to go to a program like Michigan.”
Marshall received 254 carries for 1,551 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with 30 receptions for 394 yards and 4 touchdowns, this past season for Moeller, which advanced to the OHSAA Division I Semifinals for the third straight year. Marshall also earned Division I All-Ohio first-team offensive honors.

He’s set to enroll in June.
At 5-foot-10.5, 200 pounds, Marshall is listed as the No. 81 overall prospect and No. 4 running back in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 3 player in Ohio.
Scouting Report
“I think Marshall will probably even be a heavier guy (than Blake Corum) once he gets to work with Michigan’s strength and conditioning program. We like him a lot. He’s a really good player. A guy who runs in-between the tackles and plays against great competition in the Cincinnati Greater Catholic League. He has a pretty strong overall skill set. If you’re picking a running back in this class who would be a good fit at Michigan, he would be among the few good ones, in terms of his style.” – On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power
