Michigan lands commitment from top 2025 RB target Jasper Parker
Michigan has landed its third commitment of the 2025 recruiting class this month.
Top running back target Jasper Parker, out of Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw, announced his pledge to the Wolverines on Saturday while on his weekend official visit in Ann Arbor.
New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford and area recruiter Ron Bellamy led the way in securing Parker’s talents. The latter assistant graduated from the same school that Parker currently attends.
“(Alford is) way more than a coach,” Parker previously told The Wolverine. “He’s a mentor. He’s a role model. The way he talks to his family and everybody with respect stands out. It shows you how good of a person. He’s wise and has a lot of years of experience.
“Coach Bellamy went to my high school, so we chop it up and talk all the time. He was in my shoes making decisions like this. He told me why it was the right decision and choice. He talked to my parents about taking care of me.”
Parker’s official visit is a return trip following his first time touring the facilities and campus back in mid-April.
“It was great,” Parker said. “(Alford) emphasized the need for me to go to Michigan. He just reiterated a lot of things and showed why they are a powerful option in this recruiting process. We talked schemes, plans for enrolling and just grew closer.”
