Top recruits arrive for official visits to Michigan
Michigan is kicking off its second slate of June official visits this weekend with several highly-touted recruits already on campus.
13 Michigan prospects in the 2024 class are scheduled to be in Ann Arbor, including one verbal commit, over the next couple of days. Three of whom are ranked in the Top 100 nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media services.
Michigan heads into the weekend with 17 commits this cycle, 11 four stars and six three stars, which is No. 6 overall on the On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings.
Here are the some of the notable visitors who’ll enjoy the festivities presented by the Michigan staff:
• Five-star Chicago (Ill.) St. Ignatius defensive lineman Justin Scott
• Five-star St. Louis (Mo.) University wide receiver Ryan Wingo
• Top 100 Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West

Waiting for each of the recruits and their families were mounds of gifts, such as sweet and salty snacks, a maize and blue themed cookie cake and greeting cards. Michigan director of on-campus recruiting and operations Christina DeRuyter and her student assistants have been lauded for their efforts over the years to make any visitor feel at home, especially when the trip itinerary lasts 48 hours.
The aftermath of this weekend should bode well for Michigan as six of the 12 uncommitted targets on campus have been predicted to choose the two-time reigning Big Ten Champions, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Beigel, who’s originally from Germany, might be the lone Michigan commit on an official visit but he won’t be the only 2024 pledge to be inside the facilities. Avon (Ohio) High interior offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive tackle Ben Roebuck will also be assisting the coaching staff with the recruiting pitches.
Up next for Michigan will be Victor’s Weekend on June 16th as a majority of the 2024 recruiting class, along with seven key targets, will take their respective official visits then.
