Where Michigan stands in On3 Industry Team Rankings after early National Signing Day
Michigan fell to No. 17 overall on the 2024 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings following the conclusion of early National Signing Day, which saw the signing of 27 commits, including On300 Bowie (Md.) Bishop McNamara EDGE Lugard Edokpayi.
Edokpayi officially visited Ann Arbor last week and began trending toward the Wolverines on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) on Saturday. Before the visit, he and his family had an in-home visit with Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, defensive line coach Mike Elston, and staffer Dylan Roney. He announced the commitment Wednesday.
“It was good,” Edokpayi told The Wolverine. “It was great to meet them in person, and my parents got to ask all the questions they needed to ask. They talked about their academic program, how they are the top public school in the country and how they are basically an Ivy League when it comes to academics. With the football piece, it was more about the culture and how they are a blue blood program. They talked about the defense and how their defense works.”
At 6-foot-6.5, 215 pounds, Edokpayi is ranked as the No. 182 overall prospect and No. 19 EDGE in the country, according to On3. He’sHe’s also the No. 3 player in Maryland.
Team rankings are determined based on each program’s 17 highest-rated pledges.
