Michigan remains in Top 20 in updated 2023 On3 Consensus team recruiting rankings
Michigan finished No. 18 overall in the 2023 On3 Consensus National Team Recruiting Rankings, more than a month following the traditional February signing period as the team picked up former Notre Dame signee and Portsmouth (Va.) Churchland four-star athlete Brandyn Hillman.
Hillman was granted a release from his National Letter of Intent (NLI) from the Fighting Irish this offseason with the Wolverines quickly swooping in to formally offer. Leading the way was Michigan safeties coach Jay Harbaugh, who brought Hillman in for an official visit this weekend when the 6-foot-1 and 190-pounder announced his commitment.
“Michigan is a good school,” Hillman told The Wolverine. “I trust Michigan for sure. I like that they compete year in and year out. I like that they are in a conference and play for championships. Coming into a place where the defense is strong, and I can add to it is a great feeling.”
Hillman is ranked as the No. 6 athlete and No. 206 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Consensus. He is also listed as the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Virginia.
