WATCH: Sherrone Moore finally able to speak on Bryce Underwood, OC change
The Michigan Wolverines signed the majority of their 2025 football recruiting class on Wednesday, headlined by Five-Star+ quarterback and No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood. The official signatures meant U-M head coach Sherrone Moore could finally address players officially, per NCAA rules.
Underwood’s recruitment was one of the most high-profile flips in the online era of the sport, and gives Michigan a quarterback to build around in a new era.
“It’s huge,” Moore said. “He’s an excellent player, obviously. He has an elite skillset from the pocket, out of the pocket, deep ball, touch, intermediate, short. He’s talked to me about different things we want to do with him to expand his game, and we’ll do that.

“He’s an exceptional leader. He loves the game, loves the grind, loves to get better. The first question he asked me was, ‘how late is the indoor [facility] open? How late can I be in the building? As late as you want, buddy. We’re excited, very excited to get him here and get to work.”
Moore said that Underwood informed him of his commitment via a phone call where he suspected that Michigan would wind up landing the elite signal-caller.

“Kind of got the gist,” Moore said. “Been around him and kind of felt like it would happen, but a phone call. Just extremely excited that to happen and all the hard work that we’ve done in the communication and relationship built felt like it was coming to that.
“He can be here, I think, in the next couple in the next week and start to do stuff. You just can’t practice and do stuff with the team yet. So, we’ll do as much as we can from a compliance standpoint with him pretty soon.”
The Michigan head coach also addressed the offensive coordinator change and firing of Kirk Campbell during the media session, which you can view a portion of using the embedded player above or on our YouTube channel.
