Michigan Signee Derrick Moore Wins MVP At Under Armour All-America Game
On300 Michigan defensive end signee Derrick Moore was named MVP of the Under Armour All-America Game after a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon.
The Baltimore (Md.) St Frances product logged two sacks and consistently got pressure on opposing quarterbacks as he led Team Icons to a 23-17 win over Team Legends.
Moore joins Rashan Gary as the second Michigan defensive line signee to win the MVP award.
A late addition to the Wolverines’ 2022 recruiting class, Moore originally committed to Oklahoma. However, when OU head coach Lincoln Riley abruptly bolted to USC, it opened the door for Michigan to get involved.
The Wolverines had to clear a some hurdles with former St. Frances head coach Biff Poggi on staff, but they were able to get him in for an official visit and win him over just days before National Signing Day last month.
Moore went public with his pledge to the Wolverines and signed his NLI during the first day of the early period.
